    Vintage
Motorcycle Tires
Looking for some vintage motorcycle
tires? There are many reasons you may want to go with
vintage motorcycle tires, perhaps you’re in the process of
restoring an old bike and want it to be as authentic as
possible. Then again, maybe you just like the rugged
feel of the tires of old and want to experience that kind of
ride that you remember from your youth once
again.
Whatever the case, there is no shortage of
vintage motorcycle tires out there, they are produced by
many popular companies such as Dunlop and Metzeler.
However, if you’re at a loss as to which vintage motorcycle
tires you should get for your ride, we’re going to take a
look at where you can find them and what types of tires you
should consider getting.
Now the first place you’re going to want
to check out is EBay, why? Because EBay is full of
people selling old or used products online. Because
you’re looking for vintage tires, there is no better place
then to look on an auction site for some vintage looking
tires to go with your bike. Now do keep in mind that
when you purchase on EBay, you need to do so from a seller
who has a good rating, failing to do so may mean you might
not have the most pleasant purchasing experience.
You want to ensure that the item you buy
is as shown in the auction and you also want to ensure you
receive it intact, for that reason, only purchase from
sellers with mostly positive feedback.
Now, aside from EBay, you can also
checkout certain online stores like the Motorcycle
Superstore or Revzilla Motorsports. Here are a few I
found at each of those places:
1. Dunlop Vintage
K70/K81/Tt100 Tires
These are classic tube type tires that are
comfortable, fashionable, rugged and just a great value
overall. These are the types of tires you’d want to
get to match say a 1966 BSA Lightning or similar bike.
They’ll only cost you $65.98 if you pick them up at
Revzilla.
2. Metzeler ME 77 Vintage
Line Rear Tire
Here’s another one to consider picking up
at Motorcycle Superstore for only $98.99. These have a
tubeless design and are H-rated for speeds up to
130mph. The mileage is pretty good at around 7,500
miles and you get fast shipping if you pick it up from these
guys. The traction under wet conditions may not be the
best, but overall it is a good vintage tire for the
price.
Now there are many other vintage
motorcycle tires to consider out there, this is just a taste
of what you may pick up. When shopping for vintage
motorcycle tires, do make sure to take full advantage of the
Internet and browse through as many online retailers as
possible.
